National Work Zone Awareness Week 2009
by Blaine J. Hoffmann, MS OSHM - Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 03:11 PM

It is that time of the year again - the season for orange barrels and lane closures!

According to the DOT, approximately 1,000 people are killed each year in roadway work zones. With the recent enactment of the economic recovery package, which supports a good deal of highway repair and construction funding, 2009 could be one of the most active highway repair seasons in recent memory. So drive safely out there. For your sake and our workers!

Don't forget to check with the Mid-America OSHA Education Center for scheduled Work Zone Safety Training dates.
