The new OSHA standards take effect in June 2017 for the construction industry and June 2018 for general industry and maritime. The rule significantly reduces the amount of silica dust that workers can be exposed to on the job. The new permissible exposure limit (PEL) for respirable crystalline silica will be 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air, averaged over an 8- hour shift.

Mid-America OSHA Education Center would like to invite you to come and learn about the new Crystalline Silica standards. This session will discuss the permissible exposure limit, exposure assessment, exposure control plan, compliance dates and resources.
